In 2024, Government College University Hyderabad hosted an insightful and engaging Awareness Seminar for the Huawei ICT Competition. This seminar provided an invaluable platform for students from the (CS), (IT), (DS), and (AI) departments to gain insights into the prestigious Huawei ICT Competition. The event aimed to familiarize students with the upcoming competition, the significance of participating, and the benefits of engaging in the world- renowned event. With the support of the Chairman of the Computer Science & Information Technology Department Prof. Dr. Imtiaz Brohi, Event Moderator Engr. Komal Naz Soomro and Huawei’s representatives & guest speakers, Sir Hamza Bin Najam serve as the Manager Talent eco system Huawei Pakistan and Engr. Bhagchand Meghwar Winner of the Huawei ICT Competition 2021-22 and serves as the Team Lead (IP) at Huawei Pakistan.
The seminar provided students with an opportunity to learn about cutting-edge technological innovations, enhance their knowledge, and prepare for future success in the field of Information and Communications Technology (ICT).
The seminar began with a welcome address from university officials, who emphasized the importance of global competition in shaping the careers of students in today’s digital age.
Huawei representatives shared details about the competition’s structure, the challenges students would face, and the skills required to succeed. They also highlighted the valuable opportunities that come with participating in the competition, including exposure to the latest trends in networking, telecommunications, Cloud, AI, Computing, and ICT solutions.
The event included interactive sessions where students could ask questions, clear doubts, and even discuss their career aspirations in the tech field. Students were also encouraged to explore various resources and training materials available to help them prepare effectively for the competition.
The seminar concluded with motivational talks from successful participants of previous Huawei ICT Competitions, who shared their experiences and tips for success. Their stories inspired students to push their boundaries, work hard, and strive for excellence in their chosen ICT fields.
With the awareness seminar providing valuable insights, students of GCUH are now more prepared and motivated to participate in the Huawei ICT Competition 2025-2026, aiming for excellence and global recognition.
MY EXPERIENCE IN THE HUAWEI ICT COMPETITION
My name is Kirshan Malhi. I am a dedicated student of the Computer Science Department at Government College University Hyderabad, with Roll No. BSCS-2023-106. I first heard about the Huawei ICT Competition during an awareness seminar organized by my Department. This seminar sparked my interest and opened my eyes to the incredible opportunities this global competition offers.
The Huawei ICT Competition has been a remarkable experience, one that has greatly enhanced my understanding of network engineering. When I stepped into the competition, I was pushed beyond my limits, diving deep into real-world ICT scenarios that tested my technical skills and problem-solving abilities. The sense of camaraderie among competitors and the guidance from our mentors made the challenges feel more manageable and enjoyable. Reaching the first level of the competition was a proud moment, but it also fueled my desire to keep pushing forward. Each stage brought new learning opportunities, sharpening my strategic thinking and boosting my confidence in my field. This competition has not only shaped my career aspirations but has also inspired me to achieve next year 2025-2026 aim for the global finals and secure the prize.
